On 6 August, 2019, at VinFast- An Phat Bioplastics Auto Part Limited Company (VAPA) of VinFast Complex, Dinh Vu – Cat Hai industrial zone, Hai Phong, inauguration ceremony of VAPA factory – the venture between An Phat Holdings and VinFast (a member of Vingroup) was held.
This event marked the official launch of VAPA, the result of the success of An Phat Holdings and VinFast in the cooperative effort to develop automotive – motorbike supporting industry, improve localization rate.
Attending the inauguration ceremony were Mr. Pham Van Moi – Head of Management of Hai Phong Industrial Zone , Mr. James Benjamin Deluca – Deputy CEO of Vingroup, in charge of VinFast Global Business Development, Mr. Pham Anh Duong – Chairman of An Phat Holdings, Mr. Man Chi Trung – CEO of VAPA and representatives of the Board of Management of An Phat Holdings and VinFast Manufacturing and Trading Company Limited.
VAPA was established and started construction in November 2018. With an area of more than 11,500 m2 in the VinFast complex factory in Dinh Vu Industrial Park (Hai Phong), VAPA was invested a system of modern machinery lines, including auxiliary machinery imported from big partners in the world. The number of machines in 2019 was about 30, and will nearly double by 2020.
In June 2019, VAPA tested the product to prepare for some first orders. After receiving the plastic mold of VinFast electric motorbike since the beginning of July, VAPA started producing and delivering the first shipment to VinFast on 24 July.
In terms of production capacity, VAPA is capable of producing and supplying plastic components for about 250,000 cars and 500,000 motorcycles per year in the first period to 2023.In the next phase, VAPA will increase the capacity, increasing the ability to supply plastic component products for the automobile and motorbike industry. In addition to plastic components for cars and motorcycles, VAPA will continue to research and develop production of components and other household plastic accessories, meeting the requirements of customers.
